Keller and Mansfield Among Best Places to Live in National Survey View All

Irving, TX (August 16, 2009) – Two North Texas cities, where Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage – Dallas/Fort Worth (CBDFW) is experiencing strong growth in home sales, also are considered two of the top places in the nation to live, according to an annual lifestyle survey.

Out of 100 US cities, CNNMoney.com placed Keller No. 7 and Mansfield at No. 83 in the national survey of residents’ quality of life categories. The survey focused on smaller cities which offer the best combination of economic opportunity, good schools, safe streets, activities and a sense of community.

“We’ve always known Keller was a magnificent place to build a home and a future,” says Tommy Dyer, branch manager for CBDFW’s Keller office.

Barbara Landers, recently appointed branch manager of the Mansfield office, concurs. “Mansfield is one of the fastest growing cities in North Texas, primarily because many home buyers recognize the high quality of the schools, great value on home costs, and over-all quality of life we experience here.”

Keller has a population of 38,100, an unemployment rate of 5.8 percent, and home values that rose nearly 6% last year. “The hot market surrounding Keller — Colleyville, Southlake and Grapevine — plus a huge focus on new home construction — are critical factors at Coldwell Banker offices in each of these cities,” says Mr. Dyer.

CBDFW’s nearby Southlake office is managed by Julie Choate, who says “the recognition of the high quality of life, top-ranked schools, proximity to an international airport and access to major metropolitan areas are among many factors behind the enormous popularity of the mid-cities communities.”

Mr. Dyer adds, “The economy is healthy here. Energy has kept Texas going strong. Large national companies with offices in our area are major contributors to employment and economy.” He points out the city’s immaculate parks, a new town center and a population that has tripled since 1990.

“Our area enjoys a high quality of life complete with quality schools, lush parks and low crime rate,” says Ms. Landers.
